The appointed Medical Officer will provide clinical services within the Internal Medicine Department at Helen Joseph Tertiary Hospital.
1. Clinical Management of Medical Patients
Provide medical care to patients admitted to General Medicine Units.
The appointed candidate will work with registrars and consultants to ensure appropriate diagnosis, treatment and ongoing clinical management.
2. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures appropriate to the training and responsibilities of a Medical Officer.
3. Outpatient Department Services
Participate in clinical services within the Medical Outpatient Department (MOPD).
Manage patients attending medical follow-up appointments and consultations.
4. Subspecialty Medical Services
Assist with clinical care within subspecialty outpatient departments and specialty ward consultation services.
5. Clinical Mentorship and Supervision
Provide guidance and act as a professional role model for junior doctors and associated clinical staff.
6. Academic and Teaching Responsibilities
Participate in academic activities organised by the Department of Internal Medicine and related subspecialties.
Teach and supervise medical students while on call.
